Go ahead, amuse me Vodkamom

Todays guest on Go Ahead, amuse me is Vodkamom.  I came across her one day last fall and I’ve been hooked ever since.  She teaches kindergarten and shares the cutest stories about her students.  She also talks about her kids Bitchy, Sassy and Golden Boy but the post I’m including is one about “Frank.”  Frank must be a handful but from a reading perspective, he is hilarious.  Hope you enjoy her as much as I do and go check her blog out.

Lesson 650 from the Book of Frank.

We were working in centers yesterday when I heard Frank’s thundering voice from across the room. (It’s a daily occurrence.)

He was tying to re-direct one of the children in his group to a task that wasn’t really PART of the center. (Kind of the confused leading the confused.)

I left my own group to walk over and right a sinking ship.

“Frank, please remember that Frank worries about Frank, and Suzy worries about Suzy. I, on the other hand, worry about everyone.”

 “Crap.”

 “What did you say?”

“I thaid crap. Cause I thpilled thome things!”

“Frank. You do NOT say crap in school, or to the teacher. You never “crap” the teacher. Do you understand that?” I said convincingly. Or so I thought.

Shrugging his shoulders, he nodded. I walked away and heard him knock over the box containing the 1,000 Mr. Potato Head pieces and turned to see them scatter across the floor.

“CRAP!” he shouted, and then looked at me.

I looked at him and turned away. I decided that sometimes, just sometimes, you have to ignore the crap.

Go ahead, amuse me is a weekly posting I will be having featuring another funny blogger.  Or maybe not a blogger … you could just be a funny person.  So, if you would like to be featured all you have to do is email me at allfookedup@gmail.com and send me a funny post.  If I AGREE that it’s funny, I’ll simply put up your post with a short intro that you write so that my readers will check out your blog.  Of course, you also need to put up a link to my blog saying that you’re being featured over here.

See? WIN-WIN … hope to hear from you … or not!

“You never crap the teacher.” I just love that. Frank will probably turn out to be the next Steve Jobs or Bill Gates. Maybe even a president…if he stops swearing. Your job is a true test of patience. I commend you!

Vodka Mom’s right, sometimes you do have to ignore the crap, but not if it ends up on the bottom of your bare foot…one of these days I’ll learn NOT to walk in my back yard without shoes until AFTER my husband has done poo duty.

I love it! “Frank worries about Frank and Suzie worries about Suzie.” Gad – how many times do I say this to my kids? With their names, not Frank and Suzie.

Today I saw Frank in the hallway. He was wearing ANGEL WINGS that light up. He borrowed them from a girl who brought them for SHOW AND TELL!! I ran as fast as I could, knowing they would explode at any moment.
