In which email fucks with my brain

Apparently, I’m getting stupider (more stupid?) on a daily basis.  Ever since I got my new computer things seem to disappear.  Just a few minutes ago, I was looking through my emails for a folder.  Now I know for a FACT that I had a folder with this persons name on it but I’ve looked all through my mail and all through my folders and I can’t find it anywhere.

I think it’s this Apple Computer.  I got it at Christmas and strange things have happened ever since.  First I have my normal email account, which lately, has been completely dominated by junk mail.  I have no idea how that happened but I guess its open season for junk mail because it’s driving me nuts.

Then I have two Gmail accounts, one for the my blog All Fooked Up and another for this column I’m going to have (eventually) but somehow, all these emails I’ve saved have disappeared.

Now truly, Gmail befuddles me anyways.  I can never tell if I’m deleting something or archiving something.  I suppose it doesn’t help that I answer the emails on either my computer or iPad or iPhone so I’m not sure if there’s any consistency going on but still, what the hell am I supposed to do here?

So today, I got an email from an acquaintance and he has a file … somewhere … so I was looking to put this email with the others and I CAN’T FUCKING FIND IT.  WHERE DID ALL MY EMAILS TO HIM GO?  I have no idea.

This isn’t the first time I’ve found myself befuddled.  It seems to be happening more and more.  Kevin did get me my One Care thingie with the computer so I suppose I could go into Apple and actually learn what I’m doing but just like I don’t read instructions before I put something together, I have a real problem finding out the proper way to do things.

It’s stupid I know but I’m so damn stubborn sometimes that I find myself doing idiotic things that I would totally yell at my kids about.  So between the email and the iPhoto which I’m pretty sure is designed in a way purely to drive me mad, I think there’s a pretty good chance that I’ll go insane.

I can just see my defense at some trial I have to go to after I kill somebody “sir, it was my new apple computer. It just doesn’t make sense and it drove me over the edge.”

Well, I gotta go and see if I can figure out where this guy went on my email.  I mean, I don’t mind culling people out of my life but I like to be in charge of who makes the cut and who doesn’t … you know what I mean?

I’m just saying …

If I’m on your jury you are acquitted. I understand your frustration and killing something might make me feel much better but I had to pay for this damn compute that is the real source of my frustration.

hahaha…thanks. I seriously can’t figure out where the hell these emails get to? How can entire folders disappear?

Gmail doesn’t have folders. Just labels. It’s not possible that you let put any messages into their own folders. Click “all mail”. You may have to click “more” tio show that choice. Once all the mail is showing do a search for your friend you should find his emails.

See, trying to sort things out was your first mistake. ;) Gmail can search, so just search for your friend’s name and all those emails should show up. Unless you really did delete them.

hahaha…i don’t ever ask for help from my kids but i know what you mean.

      the eye roll…gotta love it

  6. If it’s in gmail, all you need to do is search for his name. Everything from him, about him, to him “ought” to show up.

I don’t see how any jury could convict someone who went insane because of a computer. It’s such a common effect of computers that it must be a daily occurrence. I have, on more than one occasion, wanted to hurl my computer out of the (closed) window, preferably onto the head of a passerby JUST TO SHOW IT!

I have recently changed to a Google domain name for my blog and am now swimming in a sea of confusion. I have no idea what I’m doing with it, and I know it’ll take hours for the fog to lift. *sigh*

Isn’t all this crap confusing? I guess I just need to take the time to read the directions

I use Gmail and I wish that it had folders! I’m still trying to figure out the tagging thing they have!
