This blog is not for the light-hearted or easily offended. If either one of those descriptions applies to you, i would suggest you start drinking before you read this blog. A sense of humor is suggested. If you don't have one that sucks for you … find one and get a life!

In which i discuss my format

First of all I want to say “Happy Birthday” to my husband Kevin, who has kindly put up with my shit for many, many years. For his present, he and my son will be going up to Boston for a MAJOR sports weekend to see the Celtics and Patriots over Halloween. So…if any of you have sweet sports connections, please contact me.

Now onto the important stuff. I’ve been trying to figure out how to organize stuff. Do I just randomly put up stories? Do I divide them by time periods? Or maybe categories?
The jury is still out on this. Some of the categories I’ve come up with are: Meeting interesting people, Fleeting careers, Random Acts of Kindness, Crazy Birthday Celebrations, Disappointments, Rules to Live By, Rants, etc. I would really, really appreciate some comments since I don’t know what I’m doing.

Also, I’m not funny everyday so do I skip that day? Or write real stuff? Huh, so what do I do?

So today I’m going to talk about meeting people. I can talk to anyone … anytime… depending on which part of my manic depressive cycle I’m in. (Yes it’s true; I’m a chemically controlled person). I meet people in bars, airplanes, Chinese restaurants (where I ended up with a kick-ass job but that’s a story for another day), anywhere. I don’t think it’s me… I think anybody can meet people, it’s just that I will say anything to anybody with no filter so I end up having awesome conversations with people. It’s fun … and funny … that it happens so often. My kids didn’t believe me until I met the lead singer of REO Speedwagon last year on a plane coming back from the Caribbean and we got to talking. It was quite funny and we had a great conversation so he invited me to the concert and then he left tickets and a backstage pass for me at the Venue. I don’t even like REO Speedwagon but when I told some people about it at the gym, they freaked, and we ended up going. It was hilarious…they were playing with some other bands like Deff Leopard and there were all these “old” rockers there. UGGHHH.

However, I did go to the “meet and greet” and got to see my pal, get some pics, and a free CD which I really didn’t want or need. So, you see… I tend to have these things happen to me all the time. My entire life has been like a pinball being directed by random events. So that’s what the books going to be about. All these random things, wild times, and at times serious stuff. Yes folks, I can be serious and I’m a pro at medical catastrophes as well.

So there… my first post! What do you think?

OMG! You forgot to throw an "engineer party!" Great idea for next year?

  2. Wanted to drop a comment and let you know your Rss feed is not working today. I tried including it to my Google reader account and got nothing.
