This blog is not for the light-hearted or easily offended. If either one of those descriptions applies to you, i would suggest you start drinking before you read this blog. A sense of humor is suggested. If you don't have one that sucks for you … find one and get a life!
So last night I watched, because I must be masochistic, the Republican Debate Parts I and II. Basically, I was appalled that any of these people could be president so although I suppose I will get some hate comments here are my thoughts.
Does nobody understand the separation between church and state?
Is the most important quality for a person to be the president the willingness to make women NOT have abortions?
How can the republicans bitch about the Supreme Court when it’s already leaning to the right? Do they not know who put the people on the Supreme Court?
How can people NOT understand that if you don’t like the RULES of your job then perhaps you should NOT have that job??? You can’t pick and choose the laws you choose to uphold.
Since when did God become above the law? I never learned that one in Civics class. Of course, that’s pretty much what ISIS et al thinks as well.
Don’t all the candidates realize that we are all, banning Native Americans, descended from immigrants?
I guess except for the slaves … they didn’t come here voluntarily.
The problem with politics is politicians.
Citizens United has unleashed the hounds of hell … and billionaires. It seems that elections are for sale at this point.
Donald Trump has the most amazing ability to come up with new adjectives (or is it adverbs) that I have ever seen. Nonetheless, other than being “terrific” and having “terrific” ideas that will make us “amazed” what substance is behind that hair? Apparently we are not going to “believe” how great things will be!
Don’t these guys realize that Global Warming is real and that their kids and grandkids will suffer?
It’s crap that we don’t need new workers coming in. Americans don’t want most manufacturing jobs because it’s hard work; despite all the people out of work many manufacturing jobs are going unfilled because of a lack of qualified workers.
Guns ARE the problem … or one of them.
Blowing the shit out of the Middle East is getting us nowhere. Its naïve to think this is all Obama’s doing.
Before WWII many Jews tried to get out of Nazi territories but nobody in Europe or the US wanted them. 6 million of them were killed. Now hundreds of thousands of Syrians are trying to get out of Syria. Nobody wants them. Hindsight is 20/20 but apparently nobody learns from history.
How crazy are Cruz, Huckabee and Jindal??? Please don’t answer… it was rhetorical.
The erosion of the family is not our biggest problem. The mass incarceration of people, a lack of education and hope, and poverty are our biggest problems.
I’m sure there is more that I can take away but honestly, I can’t even in regards to all these candidates.
On the other hand, Twitter had some pretty funny reactions …
Love it! Was thinking the same things!
I figure a lot of people won’t but the whole debacle was crazy
Sadly, you are right!
A political rant is not at all why I read your blog these past months. There is so much easily-refuted material in your post. That being said, I’ll unsubscribe.
Get over yourself. It is a blog, her thoughts, her words.
thanks Ro … people sure are sensitive
ok …
They are trying to make my head explode. Your thoughts are the thoughts of many, including me.
don’t let your head explode. They’re not worth it
I think you wanted to say “barring Native Americans”. But otherwise, full ack.
what did i say? I basically never proofread. Did i say baring??? hahaha
We are having an election in Canada right now and I can safely say not all of the nuts have stayed in the US. It is frightening what some of these nutbars say at times. There are no ethical politicians any more, oh wait a minute. Ethical politician is an oxymoron. And I mean moron.
What sane person would run for office IMO
Totally agree. That “debate” made me despair for the future.
I have never been more horrified in my life. I’m a Republican and it is doubtful I will vote for any candidate in my party.
I did not watch the “debate” because there is only so much bullshit I can take on a daily basis and that quote is generally filled by my drive to work … but I expect I would agree with you 100%.
Great read!
Very sad state of affairs when with all the brilliance in the United States the best we can do is a group of “wanna-be’s” belittling each other and verbally attacking everyone else.
I’m waiting for anyone to come up with a platform of common sense, empathy and feasible solutions.
don’t hold your breath
One of the most hilarious things I’ve noted about the republicans (repugnantcans? -har) is their universal disdain for government, yet their rabid need to be part of it. The lying turds. And of the things they espouse, that which pisses me off most is their perpetual attempts to prohibit abortion, which last time I checked, was legal in this country. (despite their psychotic efforts to the contrary…)
And kudos on to you on the “church and state” and “guns” comments; spoken like a true sane person. Those issues and the republican rhetoric regarding them have me frothing at the mouth daily.
Oh, and I am subscribing to your blog right this minute because I liked your political rant.
thanks, I appreciate it
My pleasure- seriously. (…and by saying “kudos” on those two things in your rant, I did not mean to discount your comments on everything else. You were totally on target with your whole rant, imho, and I appreciate your voicing it!)
Yes! Stupid is the new black and the GOP is the New Stupid. Rant on….
why thanks, i will
