This blog is not for the light-hearted or easily offended. If either one of those descriptions applies to you, i would suggest you start drinking before you read this blog. A sense of humor is suggested. If you don't have one that sucks for you … find one and get a life!

In which i just have some observations

So it’s interesting that while I’ve been a total slacker lately I’ve actually gotten more readers. It makes no sense. Perhaps its because I’m posting less!!!

I don’t know. At any rate I know that I’ve been feeling bad about posting less but you know what? I have had this blog almost 5 years and I never thought I’d last 5 months so that’s sort of impressive to me.

Also I’m only going to post when I have something I want to post about because I have been using my time painting lately and frankly, I enjoy that more.

However I do have some observations I would like to make:

  1. No matter how many times I tell Kevin that it is DISGUSTING that he puts his shoes on the counter, the table or the bed he still does it. WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT???? See this picture???? WHY????  IMG_2157
  2. Cats are capable of sleeping anywhere: in the napkin holder, in a bowl, above the sink on a shelf, in the laundry basket, in the laundry cart and apparently below an easel where oil paint could easily drop on you. HmmmmmIMG_2326
  3. No matter how old your kids on when they’re having a bad day they call you and then all of sudden, no matter what type of mood you were in, you’re now having a bad day too.
  4. Kittens think older cats are play toys.
  5. Kittens have an endless fascination with their tails.
  6. Fish must not realize that the creature swatting at them and staring at them endlessly would indeed like to fish for them.FullSizeRender 3
  7. Even though I swore I wouldn’t go see Tom Cruise again because he’s batshit crazy I couldn’t resist the latest Mission Impossible and it was really, really good.
  8. I still enjoy doing a good, creative project that has computer design aspects. I may be rusty but it’s so much fun. I should totally have been a graphic designer.
  9. The more I work out the less in shape I get.
  10. Even though I try to replicate certain techniques in my paintings I seriously can’t even remember how I did them in the first place. This is terribly frustrating and truly shows a lack of training.FullSizeRender 5
  11. And yet, I’m ok with it because winging it is how I roll.
  12. I sometimes wonder if I’ve lost my sense of humor because I don’t think I’m as funny as I used to be. Weird huh?

I could go on but frankly, I don’t wanna. I’ll be back eventually but who knows when.

Agree with many of these.. and AGREE!!!! especially with #3. Ain’t it the truth?
Maybe it’s just the older the kids get the more likely they are to have a bad day? And the more you have the worse it is?
I could tell you a story or two so you would know you are not alone.

I’m personally sorry that you don’t post as much, but I’m glad you are doing what you want to do instead.

I have had a rough month. Lost my job, a kid ( I have 4 grown) is with someone who makes my hair stand on end. ( again) and eye surgery resulting in multiple complications. And more.. but you get it.

Do what you’re doing. Make YOU happy. I hope we both have fewer #3s.

Oh and cats and kittens are worth the insanity :) I have 5 cats ( long story) and adopted a Newf in Feb. She had been saved from a puppy mill. Lots of work, but… no #3s from any of them.

The shoe thing is gross. They would be out the fucking door. Ugh! And kittens are amazing little bundles of energy. I found you late but really enjoy your writing. Please continue.

Yep – Those shoes would be MIA and I totally agree on “The more I work out the less in shape I get.” FRUSTRATING!!

The shoe thing is gross. I think the interwebs would fully support a new policy of “shoes left on the counter go in the trash”.

I’ve had my blog since 2009, which blows me away sometimes, and it is basically just me talking to myself but you know what? that’s fine. Sometimes I post a lot, sometimes I’m barely there, ultimately since I don’t owe anybody anything, eh.

I think if you’re on a painting roll right now, roll with it. :-)
