In which i might be boring now

Kings of the Beach

Excellent news people: I just changed the batteries out in my Apple Keyboard. Now this might not seem like such a big deal but I have, in fact, been getting popup notices for WEEKS now saying that my batteries were low.  Just thought you’d want to know. Speaking of changing out the batteries, are you aware that you must have a coin handy to change out the batteries?

Now I happen to keep a coin in my desk for just that purpose but why would Apple assume that you’d have one handy? What if you had no coin handy huh? Then you couldn’t type now could you? Just food for thought.

Luckily for you people, I do have a coin handy and now I can write a post.  However, I have noticed lately that my posts have sucked and I thought I’d write a bit about that.  Way back in the day (about 3 years ago) when I started this blog Daniel was still living at home and the girls were in college (therefore nearby) and funny shit still happened all the time; now that’s not the case.

Keely is in California and other than the fact that I don’t talk to her all that often, it’s harder to make fun of someone that’s busy doing something you don’t know much about.  Andie is busy in Med School and Daniel had the goddamn nerve to go off to college.

He was home the other day so that he could get an Xray (yeah, they still need me) and we were cuddling (yes, my kids still cuddle) and we were doing the Crossword puzzle together and I said:

Me:                  remember how much fun we used to have before school every day?

Daniel:            yeah, we would do puzzles

Me:                  I really miss that. Why did we quit?

Daniel:            I went to college

Me:                  damn it Daniel, you’re so selfish.

And that’s much of the problem.  I had these kids to keep me entertained and then they grew up and left.  While I found their childhood to be annoying and time consuming there were quite a few fun times.  Now they only call when they need something.

So that only leaves Kevin to make fun of but he’s busy working his ass off and while I can make fun of him personally I’m not really allowed to mention his job or his people or basically anything about work.  So what can I write about?

Kevin and I have funny conversations all the time but they’re hard to type up so that’s why I’ve been so boring.  We’ve had lots of funny stuff with his parents and family but I don’t really want to be mean to them either.

So I’m either going to need some volunteers that I can be mean about or you guys are gonna be stuck with the same old crap I already write about.  Just consider this a warning.

My 21 year old daughter is attending the local community college and living at home. I’d be more than happy to send her to you for a semester or two. She is very entertaining and I am REALLY getting sick of her always being around. Just something to think about . . .

“while I found their childhood to be time consuming and annoying…” I can’t wait to say that to my kids.

But I know what you mean; if my children ever leave home (which is much in doubt at this point) I don’t know what I’ll bitch about. That will be funny. I can bitch about almost anything.
