In which i mowed in Vermont

I bet you guys are thinking to yourself: So Lynn, what in the world do you guys do in Vermont.  Good news: I’m here to tell you.

We arrive in Vermont on a Saturday.

It was a bit of a stressful day because Daniel had just gotten pick pocketed. (See this post)

By the way, Keely’s response to that was “That was stupid of Daniel to allow himself to get pick pocketed” like it was a choice.  Hahaha my kids are idiots

Then I had the entire “refrigerator situation” (see yesterdays post  … or don’t)

Then Kevin announced that we would do the yard

The yard? The yard is 3 acres … it’s not a small assignment.

We had already worked out … but I was game

Especially since I got to do the riding mower

Speaking of the mowing … good music is imperative

Especially with 3 acres

Which is basically 2 hours of solid mowing

And that’s at top speed

And did I tell you that it’s sloped because they’re on a mountain?

Cuz yeah, this is VERMONT!

At any rate, normally I think Kevin’s musical choices are boring … I mean they’re all old school.

BUT … for mowing the lawn the music rocked.  And I rocked while singing out loud

For a solid two hours

SO I was mowing the lawn

Which was about a foot tall

And it took forever

And the cruise control didn’t work when you have the mower floored

And poor Kevin had to do the trimmer

Which seriously sucked and took him two hours also

And then John walked down and said that I needed to check for ticks

And then I got completely paranoid

Because ticks … YUCK

And umm, I don’t want Lyme’s disease

Would you?

But we did it … I did a somewhat lousy job

Because the ground was so uneven and bouncy

Not to mention I was flooring it

But it was done!!

And here’s a picture:

vermont

I’m incredible but that’s not all I did that day!

But that’s the next post

About the garage … and a mouse … and her little mousling babies

uggghhhhhhh

It would take a couple cocktails for me to take on such a project – and that’s just to overcome the allergies. But the photo of your finished work is nice!
