This blog is not for the light-hearted or easily offended. If either one of those descriptions applies to you, i would suggest you start drinking before you read this blog. A sense of humor is suggested. If you don't have one that sucks for you … find one and get a life!
I’m sitting outside on a lounge chair here in Manhattan Beach, California and I’m sooooo sleepy. It could be because I had an enormous burger and a beer at lunch or possibly because I was up until about midnight here which is, of course, about 3:00 AM on the East Coast. For whatever reason, I’m exhausted so I’m chilling with Paco. Who is Paco? My friend Amys dog.
I said “Paco, we should probably write a post” so we came inside but I must be honest, Paco isn’t really saying much. I already got scolded for talking to him in baby talk. Apparently Paco doesn’t like baby talk but that’s how I talk to Tucker.
Amy said “I didn’t talk baby talk to my kids and I don’t talk it to Paco either” to which I replied “I didn’t talk baby talk to my kids either but I do to Tucker.” hmmmm…perhaps that’s why Tucker is so messed up.
So, the update: yesterday Keely had a good checkup down at Duke. For all you fine people following her medical status they’re thrilled with the bone growth and will do an MRI in three months but on the X-ray things look great. Yeah! She can get on with her life.
We then went to the airport to fly here. The trip was uneventful. We left. We flew. We arrived. Then we miraculously got our bags in LAX. When Amy came to pick us up we walked to the car and attempted to throw our stuff in. I say attempted because the suitcases were really heavy and Amy was having a heart attack because we didn’t give her a chance to pull over so she was holding up traffic. Apparently that’s a HUGE NONO at LAX.
After that gaffe it was all good though. We arrived at the house and sat down. It was already past my bedtime as we made a gameplan for next day. Keely was going to check stuff out and I was hanging with Amy. I was told to NEVER wake Amy up before 9:00 as she is apparently NOT a morning person. Well, I can take a hint. Quiet as a mouse …got it.
Knowing I would never sleep that late being on east coast time and all, I decided to go to the gym first thing. I got up and went to make a protein shake and discovered the blender was leaking. Great, I thought, I’m not even here 12 hours and I’ve already broken something. Great house guest right?
Finally, I was ready to go so I googled the directions to the gym and set off. I had only gone a few yards when I realized that I had absolutely no idea what the house address was of the place I was staying therefore I would have no way of getting home from the gym.
I retraced my steps, went back and found the proper house and wrote down the address on my phone. God forbid I get to the gym and have no way to get home other than calling and waking up Amy right??
So I went to the gym and that’s pretty boring. I won’t tell you about that except I saw no one famous or anything. Then I came home and hung out while Amy screwed up some pumpkin muffins she was baking which she blamed on my chattering. Apparently she can’t multitask whole baking. Not my fault!!!
Then, it was a quick shower and off to meet Amy’s son for lunch in some place called Little Korea, not to be confused with Koreatown which is much larger. We were bringing him the pumpkin muffins EXCEPT we forgot the pumpkin muffins. Did I tell you that bringing the pumpkin muffins was the whole point of meeting her son? He was going to visit her younger son in college and she was sending them both muffins.
Instead, we ate a burger and a beer and now I’m stuffed. And did I also tell you I was sleepy? I think I did so that’s my post. Told ya I’d probably bore ya!
