In which i say hello from Maine

Hey people! Hope everyone is well today.  I’m writing this post on Wednesday because I’ll be in Maine on Friday (which is today since that’s the day I’m posting it and you’re reading it).  Well, not today when I wrote it but today when you’re reading it.  Please don’t make me explain all that.

At any rate, I’m up in Maine for a family reunion.  I’m staying with my cousin Lauren.  You may remember her as the cousin that I stayed with in London when I accidentally tried to burn the house down.  I actually offered to put some martini mix on the stove here too but for some reason, she declined.

When I stay with her we have no signal or Wi-Fi therefore I have taken the liberty of writing the post ahead of time.  Here’s what I suspect is going on.

I arrive on Thursday night late.

I wake up very early Friday morning because the sun rises incredibly early up there in Maine.

Then I go down and expect ot be waited on hand and foot …

BUT … no one else is awake because they’re used to the sun rising early and they’re not in the guest room that faces east.

Soooo…I have to make my own coffee

Just like every other damn day in my life

Which is terribly unfair

Because isn’t this my vacation?

But I do it anyway

Because I’m awesome like that

Then I hang outside and admire the incredible view

And get some more coffee

(This next step is a guess)

hmmmm…I wonder who won at the Olympics last night?

… because there is no Wi-Fi up here

but then I just chill

because that’s what we do

We chill

Well, my cousin doesn’t chill

She has a house to run with a spouse

… and kids

… and houseguests (like me)

So, that’s probably what I’ll be up to.  I just hang out with my cousins and read and possibly kayak and drink quite a bit.  Of course, there is a party at my aunt’s house that night (hmmm… that would be TONIGHT) so I bet I’ll go help set that up some.

I’m staying here through Tuesday so hopefully I’ll write a post or else you’ll just have to deal with other pre-written drivel.

Such is life. Enjoy!!! I know I will.

P.S. That picture is the Schooner Stephen Taber owned and operated by my cousin

When we were in Vermont, my sister-in-law took Caroline Kayaking in a little two person boat. Caroline was SO happy.

I think without alcohol, we wouldn’t have family reunions, lol. Everyone is happier when they drink.

Without the alkie, they’re all miserable and judgmental that you see fractions across the room – everyone goes into their little groups. After a few cases of beer and wine, voila – full party, lol.

You have a wonderful family reunion. It is nice having family reunion since we can be able to meet our relatives that are far from us.
