This blog is not for the light-hearted or easily offended. If either one of those descriptions applies to you, i would suggest you start drinking before you read this blog. A sense of humor is suggested. If you don't have one that sucks for you … find one and get a life!

In which i update you

So I realize that I wrote a post on Monday (sort of … I mean I actually wrote that eulogy in 1998 so does that really count as a new post?) and then I never wrote another one.

Well, that’s my bad. It’s not that I’ve been so busy (I sort of have though) but mostly I’ve been really lazy.

Last week, I had my room repainted and then we finally put it back together again. Here’s what my new pictures look like:

Don’t they look great?

And speaking of pictures, I was in Pilates the other day and somebody mentioned to me that a local gallery is going to have a show by local artists. She thought that perhaps I should look into that.

So I did … look into it.

I called and they told me to send in 10 pictures of my work (which I did) and then they would select 2 and show them for 2 weeks. I figured that was as good a start as any because if they like the paintings and if they sell then VOILA! I’m an artist!

I know that punctuation was all wrong but it’s impossible to punctuate because I basically write the way I talk and there is no punctuation in my talking.

Anyways, a friend of mine who is a decorator then sent in a recommendation to the gallery about my paintings so then they asked to see all of my available work. That’s basically everything except what I’ve given away or hung in my house.

Now I’m waiting. Hope they like it.

Beyond that it’s hot as hell here and we are having a party for someone who is retiring on Saturday so there’s lots of work going on around here. And NO, I’m not the one working.

People are spreading mulch and pine needles and I’m having my deck washed and stained.

It’s mostly just the party is an excuse to get the place together.

Speaking of getting the place together I’ve been systematically going through all the stuff in the house and people, I have a lot of crap in this house and I’m not even somebody who keeps stuff!

I’ve also been painting a lot and I think I have a really, really good series going so I’m excited about that.

But, my hands are pretty much permanently stained. Either my turpentine stinks or I’m turning into the chick from Avatar.

So that’s what I’m up to.

How about you??

Good luck with the Gallery. I know how hard it is to get art shown. I work at a small Gallery part-time and it is hard to see artists leave with their art having been told it isn’t “right for the Gallery”. I’m a fabric artist and would never show the owner my work. So that is what I’m working on, fabric art.

      That’s interesting. Fabric art!

More commonly known as a quilter. Fabric artist sounds better.
