This blog is not for the light-hearted or easily offended. If either one of those descriptions applies to you, i would suggest you start drinking before you read this blog. A sense of humor is suggested. If you don't have one that sucks for you … find one and get a life!
Today is Tuesday but when you read this post on Friday, I’ll be down in Atlanta, Georgia at Dragon Con. Dragon Con? What the hell is Dragon Con … that’s what you’re saying right?
Well, it’s a convention for fantasy/Scifi people down in Georgia and I had told Keely before her surgery that if she were walking, I would take her down there to celebrate. Now, she’s not able to walk long distances without a crutch YET but she’s getting there.
So, what do we do down there? I don’t completely know as I’ve never been there before but there are Tracks for everything. There are panels about TV shows (Vampire Diaries, Once Upon a Time, Lost and Battlestar Galactica) and panels about fantasy book series (Game of Thrones, The Wheel of Time, etc.) and we will definitely be attending some of those.
Beyond that, there are autograph sessions and picture sessions. I signed up to get a couple of pictures for Keely and her friend Kathleen (no not me, I’m too old in my opinion.) She’s having one taken with Jamie Bamber and James Callis as well as one with Ian Somerhalder.
I’m looking forward to meeting some of the people that I’ve talked to online and seeing some of the actors and actresses that I’ve seen on TV. Most of all, I think it will be a fun opportunity for Keely and I (and Kathleen) to relax and enjoy ourselves after this stressful summer.
One of the things I’m looking forward to is seeing all the people who dress up. Now I’m not dressing up but I’ve never seen this type of thing in person before and I’m sure we will enjoy it.
What I really want to do is unwind and mark a new chapter of Keely’s life with some fun memories. So stay tuned and expect some pictures. I’m sure we will have plenty of fun stories and experiences to share. If we don’t, I will consider myself a huge failure.
