This blog is not for the light-hearted or easily offended. If either one of those descriptions applies to you, i would suggest you start drinking before you read this blog. A sense of humor is suggested. If you don't have one that sucks for you … find one and get a life!
I’m a person who does best with a routine. Not a strict routine mind you, but something that approximates a routine. As you know, or you would if you read this blog consistently, I get up with my husband in the morning and then I go work out. After my workout I arrive home, get another cup of coffee and come into my office where I type out a post on whatever subject that I was daydreaming about during my workout. Yeah, I’m pretty focused, right?
This seems to work out well for me and after I’m done writing or posting or whatever the hell that I do in my office, I look around and see the stacks of “real work” that needs to be done and then decide if I’m close to having my water or power turned off. If the answer is no then I ignore my paperwork and do whatever the hell I want with my day. Of course, occasionally I do have to dig in and get my shit together but for the most part I avoid that.
Even as we speak I have soooo much stuff to get together for this California trip and while it’s beginning to dawn on me that I need to get going, I have yet to actually DO anything about it. But that’s not what this post is about. This post is about my blog.
So, I write in the morning and put up new posts and in an ideal world, I’m about a week ahead. (A week being 5 days for me as I only post Monday through Friday) However, when I go to California I won’t be able to do this routine. First of all, I don’t even have a laptop; I have an iPad. I love my iPad but it’s a pain in the ass to write posts on and I certainly can’t figure out how to download pictures onto it.
Now the last time I went away, Kevin found me an “extra” laptop from work and I “borrowed” it but that was only for a few days. Hopefully he’ll do that again and at least I’ll have a laptop to actually write and post from. However, I will be taking a sculpture course 8 hours/day and I certainly won’t be writing in the morning when I’m full of coffee. That means the only time I can write is at night and I’m sure to be tired because I’m going to be sculpting in marble and the physical nature of the course is pretty intense.
What am I trying to say? I’m saying that I have absolutely NO IDEA if I’ll be posting consistently for those days. Now, I’ve never actually missed a post from Monday through Friday since I began blogging last August 16th and the thought of missing one is upsetting so I’m really going to try to keep it up from out there but as I said, NO PROMISES.
Also, I might be way too tired to be funny. I’m going to be taking the course from the July 27th through July 31st up in the Sonoma Valley in California. On August 1st, I’m flying down to Los Angeles where honestly, I have yet to make plans …. or reservations actually. Then on the August 3rd, I’ll be heading down to San Diego and BlogHer. There is a very good chance that by the time I arrive at BlogHer, I will have absolutely no personality left.
I just wanted to let you guys know what’s going on and give you fair warning.
I shall endeavor to be both amusing and entertaining however. I have shit to do now so I’m outta here.
I’m just saying …
Thanks for the warning! Enjoy your awesome trip! Get you shit done!
Thanks! I’m in the airport even as we speak!!
I can’t seem to write on a touch pad either – it shits me to tears.
There’s a good phrase for your repertoire.
You’re welcome.
Thanks for that expression but you can keep it.I don’t think I’m a shits me to tears kind of gal!
Thanks anyway
WELL FINE THEN.
lol
i want to meet you in LA and record a conversation with you to see if it would be as crazy as I imagine it would be. I’d bet $10 on yes.
I’m actually pretty free in. LA so let’s do it. Send me an email. I’m traveling today but I’ll eventually reply
Let’s do it! I’m around. Send me an email or tweet about it!
A tip regarding the iPad. You can get an external keyboard for it. That way it’s a ton easier to type. My husband does that when he goes out of town.
Thanks for the tip! I made my husband borrow a laptop from work for me so I’m all good now!!!
Blogging anxiety! I am relieved I am not the only who has a minor freak out at the thought of not being able to post regularly.
Yeah, I get uptight when I don’t have posts that are in the pipeline
But…what….about…twitter….
You don’t have to Expanitary anything to me…

Aloha FSSF :)
Hahaha…did I have typos? Or are you making fun of me? Oh noes!!!
