In which it’s the Catamount Prowl

Dear ladies and Gentlemen:

Andie and I are sitting in a bar in Bennington, Vermont having a beer and playing Candy Crush Saga and we thought, “hey this would be a great time to write a joint post.”  Andie wants to have a theme but I feel that a post of random shit is in order so here goes:

Andie is having a Catamount gold beer which reminds me of the Catamount Prowl which is presently going on in Bennington.  What is the Catamount Crawl you might ask?  Why it’s a bunch of handpainted Catamounts (a large cat indigenous to Vermont) that are lining Main Street.  Allison assure us that looking at said Catamounts would be an hour and a half of fun but basically, we looked at 4 and headed to the bar.  Sometimes mommies and Andie’s just need to unwind during the summer of Andie and Mommy loving.

What is Kevin doing you might ask? He’s golfing and then swimming in the Battenkill (a river) with his brothers but Andie and I thought a workout would be in order.

So here we sit on a Saturday afternoon, having a beer and playing Candy Crush Saga.  I’m on a break because Andie let all my lives die and I have to wait a half an hour to play again.  I wholeheartedly endorse this as a mother-daughter bonding experience.

Ok, you people are boring me with your lack of feedbback.  I’m just saying.  This morning Andie and I explained to Allison that she was a “hoarder” and we threw loads of papers away including receipts for things from the late 1780’s.  She should probably be thanking us but since she reads this blog that’s probably not the case.

Meanwhile, Daniel is probably killing my fish at home and Keely is getting ready for her new job in Los Angeles.

Ok, I’m bored AND I need another drink.

Oh I am so loving the idea of a workout being a trawl of high street bars.

I haven’t got into the Candy Crush Saga craze despite receiving numerous invites on a daily basis on FB – I do worry that I will get addicted as I have with other FB games and then the treasury accounts will get done even less often than they do now.

Oooh. The year Scott and I were married, Cincinnati did flying pigs, and we got lots of pictures. Our wedding cake was based on our favorite one, which featured a pile of books. Naturally, we kept the books, but not the pig.

Angels Camp, in Calaveras County (California), has an array of large frogs decorating its main street. Because of the Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County, of course.

It’s a nice little town but does not have nearly enough bars on the high street in which to recover from encounters with frogs.
