In which i’m in Maine

sun up!

sun up!

Pretty sure you know that I’m in Maine so I’ll skip through all the bullshit and tell you what I’ve been up to.  After my harrowing arrival (see earlier post) my cousin Laurie picked me up and off we went to my Aunt and Uncle’s house for a WELCOME TO MAINE LYNN dinner . (Disclaimer: it is conceivable that my relatives will not interpret things in the way that I do.  For example, they said they were just having a dinner to which I was invited but I’m pretty sure that it was a WELCOME TO MAINE dinner made especially for me.)

The view from their house is, in a word, amazing and the weather was beautiful (even though it was supposed to rain but I’m pretty sure that the weather was celebrating my arrival as well) and since my aunt and cousins are ALL a bunch of  gourmet chefs the dinner was fantastic.

As a little extra I asked peeps to collect their beer caps which they happily did which is more than I can say about some of the bars I’ve visited lately.

We finally got to my cousins house and we hung for a while and I went to bed to the sounds of the sea.  I woke, however, to the sounds of lobster boats and another gorgeous day.  After copious amounts of coffee, Laurie declared that “we should go paddle boarding.”  As you know, all the cool kids are paddle boarding and since I’m most definitely a cool kid I whole heartedly agreed.

So we went down and got on the board and off we set into the cove.  So Lynn, HOW WAS YOUR FIRST PADDLEBOARD EXPERIENCE?  truly, I don’t see what all the fuss is about. I mean it’s fun and all and my legs got tired and my back (not using my core right I suppose) but I don’t really think I’m a zen kind of gal so I had enough pretty soon.

Laurie, however, kept on going and I soon forgot about her as I was just enjoying the gorgeous view and, to be honest, the huge bowl of M&M’s I found.  Good news is, Laurie returned alive and we continued on with our day which mostly involved moving from one gorgeous location to another.  Later that day, I drove back to my aunt’s house to see my cousin Noah who is a Captain of a boat, the Steven Tabor.  I also hung with Robin and Susie, my other cousins.

So basically, lots of family. Today Laurie and I picked blackberries until I got about a million bug bites (she got none) and I quit and came to write some blog posts.  She, along with Robin, are picking more blackberries to make a tart.  I don’t cook.  I’m a guest.  I’m sitting on my ass and waiting to drink and have lobster which is tonights dinner.

All in all, I’d have to say it’s been pretty great.  I did, however, have to use my brain earlier to figure out a computer problem so I’d say that I’ve now earned my stay.

Welp, that’s it for now.  See ya!
