You guys! This is kind of a fun thing to do. You see, I think I told you that we’re going on Vacation to Costa Rica over Christmas. Normally, we just chill here at Christmas but I don’t know if and when we’ll all be together again so I wanted to plan something fun to do.
Since everything was sold out we decided to rent a house. I’ve never rented a house before for vacation, especially one out of the country so although it sounds really awesome there seems to be a lot to do. I was informed that since it’s Christmas things get sold out, therefore I need to make reservations early.
Of course I haven’t done that but last night Kevin and I started checking stuff out. Here are some of our choices:
Whale and Dolphin watching: 3 hours – this actually sounds cool but I get seasick and don’t do boats so NO
Corcovado National Park: I checked this park out and it sounds amazing even though it has tons of poisonous snakes but it’s mostly a bunch of big hikes and I don’t like to hike but more importantly it would be awful for Keely’s hip and I can just imagine her hurting herself and us trying to deal with it in Costa Rica … in Spanish … and over Christmas so NO!
Scuba Diving: not certified
Kayaking: this is through Sea Caves and sounds good and can double as a WORKOUT so I have this on the possible list
Horseback Riding: this also sounds pretty good although a horse once stepped on Keely’s foot so we will have to see if she can deal. Also, I have no idea how to ride a horse but I’ve seen movies so it should be fine.
Zip Lines: a must! We did this in Jamaica and it is so much fun. Plus poisonous snakes can’t get up on the lines. Although we will probably die on the hike uphill.
Bird Watching: this cracks me up because I’m always watching birds here and I don’t know shit about birds
Surf lessons: apparently it’s a big surf spot and I’ve always wanted to surf but I’m afraid we aren’t going to do this. Too much other stuff to do.
LIKE Rappelling: Yeah! They rappel down a waterfall and I’m totally doing this whether my family joins in or not
Sport fishing: again, no water shit for me!
Tubing and floating: this sounds fine although I did read that the rivers have crocodiles and snakes in them not to mention some type of shark so maybe not.
Reptile house: as if I’d purposely go see snakes
Ultra light tour: just another opportunity for me to puke on a plane
Golf: sounds fun but we can do that here
Sailing around: this sounds fun but boats are a nono
ATV tour: seriously? NO
Therapeutic massage at our house: WHAT??? SOUNDS PRETTY GOOD
So now I’m trying to decide how many of these things to do and how many days to do nothing and I’ve asked my kids which is always a big mistake?
It is conceivable that I will die down there
Sounds great – kayaking fun and a workout in one and then a massage to take away all the workout pains – sounds like something that could be great on a daily basis….
would be pretty damn expensive though huh??
Why no ATV? That could be a hoot!
nah…i have to only do some of them
I’ve been to Costa Rica…they have some GIANT crocs. Loved their coffee.
hope i don’t run into a croc
I vote for rappelling down the waterfall. That sounds amazing! Then a massage every day afterwards, just because. :)
no massage unfortunately but i really wanna rappel
