This blog is not for the light-hearted or easily offended. If either one of those descriptions applies to you, i would suggest you start drinking before you read this blog. A sense of humor is suggested. If you don't have one that sucks for you … find one and get a life!

In which i’m totally cool

WTF

I don’t know if you saw this but Nathan Fielder, who is a comedian, tweeted out the following to his minions last week:Nathan Fielder

People started doing that and eventually it became a big deal on the Internet and Buzzfeed picked it up and yada, yada, yada.  While I’m not completely unaware of what occurs on the Internet I also don’t dwell on it so yesterday, Keely apparently had a bet with friends at work that her mom wouldn’t overreact.  I say overreact because  THIS is the link to his website where you can see some parents going ballistic at the thought of their kids doing drugs.

Nonetheless, yesterday I was in the midst of doing something when I heard my cell phone indicate that it got a text message.  I checked and Keely had tried this prank on me.  I didn’t realize it was a prank though because I hadn’t really been following the entire situation on the web.

She texted “got 2 grams for $40” and then in the next text she informed me that “sorry wrong person.”

I looked at the text and I responded “are you buying coke?” because seriously, what else do people purchase in grams. (Yeah, I know this stuff.  I used to do lots of coke).

Here’s the text thread:

coketext

What was so funny was that I was incredibly impressed with the price.  At any rate, Keely cracked up and won the bet and then put it on her Facebook page with an “only my mom” type of tag and it’s gotten so many likes.

What can I say? It’s hard to rattle me but you should see some of the other parents reactions.  How would you react?

    I thought the same thing . . . what a deal!
As a certified alcohol and drug counselor, I found most of the responses fairly typical (altho I feel sorry for some of those kids!).

Haha! I’d have totally referred them to my father to talk about getting bad drugs and that’s what you get when you pay too little.

The price is too low… Isn’t coke like caviar, in the best stuff is gonna cost you! Seems at 40.00 it has been “cut” too many times with ammonia, and that just seems nasty…. WHAT?? How do I know these things??? The shock factor to my kids…I stay just a minute ahead of them.

I’m the mom like you who will answer with something smart ass and ask questions after, if need be. Mostly that’s because my daughters and I have been pranking each other for years.
