In which it pisses me off

You know what really annoys me? Bathroom etiquette.  Let me explain.

At the gym that I go to the Men’s Locker Room is downstairs and the Women’s Locker Room is upstairs.  The equipment that I normally use, the cardio, is downstairs as well.

Right next to the Men’s Locker Room is a bathroom.  Now technically is this bathroom is for both Men and Women but why do the men need to use it when their locker room is right next to it and ours is all the way upstairs?

But use is they do and I fucking hate sharing locker rooms with men because unlike myself, many moms do NOT teach their sons to PUT THE SEAT DOWN!  I can’t even tell you how much it annoys me to walk in and have the toilet seat up!

It also, by the way, annoys me when women are slobs and I totally don’t get that either but that’s an entirely different discussion now isn’t it?

So, first it annoys me when I have to go to the bathroom and I’m waiting and a fucking guy comes out.  I feel like telling him to look 3 feet to the right and go in there rather than making me wait.

But today, I was going to the restroom and a woman slipped in front of me.  The restroom was occupied and the door opened and another woman was coming out.  The woman coming out knew the woman going in and did they move or did they proceed to have a long drawn out conversation while standing in the doorway? I think you know the answer.

They talked and they talked and finally, the other woman went in.

Honestly, I get that they were older and probably have all the time in the world to chat and work out (and honestly so do I) but that’s bullshit that they would just block the doorway chatting with somebody waiting behind them.

Why are people so oblivious? Why are they so rude? Why can’t those men use their locker room? Why can’t they put the seat down? What’s up with women who can’t pee without getting it everywhere?

Why do I even want to think about this? WHYYYYYY????

Well, I certainly feel better now…how about you?

  1. I know exactly what you mean. I had to teach my Hubby to put the seat down when he moved in with me and he just couldn’t understand why it drove me nuts. Having said that I had to learn to put the loo roll on the other way round so the paper could be pulled off from the front and not the back and I just didn’t get that so it is swings and roundabouts.

I much prefer working from home now; going to the ladies only to find that women could not wipe after themselves when they stood up from the loo drove me nuts. What is with standing up before you wipe when you are a woman?! Nuts!

For the record, I wipe while still sitting. TMI?
I don’t understand the people who stand right in front of the elevator doors, just chatting and laughing, completely unaware of their surroundings. HELLO????? I work in a hospital ~ “I’m so sorry, is this gurney WITH A PATIENT LYING ON IT in your way?”
    Stupid mother f$#@ers.

Bathroom etiquette? I work in a small library. We have a patron who has on several occasions used our bathroom for apparently explosive BM’s. As in, After she goes there is a lot of noise in there things rattling around and water running for a long time. Afterwards I go in and find BM on the walls, toilet back, toilet brush, etc. Each time she has gone placidly back to the computer she was using and stayed in place while I glove up and go and clean up after her. After the third time, we removed the plaque ( it was ugly anyway) from behind the toilet and put up a sign about bathroom etiquette.

It is one bathroom for staff and patrons. Men never put the seat down, and sometimes don’t flush. But they DO sprinkle! We are expected to do the cleaning and so forth, but this is beyond what we should have to deal with. There are a few times I put an out of order sign up when I have seen the problem patron approaching, but we are trying to maintain a “nice” atmosphere since the old staff were a bunch of mean … well not so friendly women. One is still there. She hates everyone. So it wouldn’t be very nice refuse use to the community because of a few people but, ye gods!
