This blog is not for the light-hearted or easily offended. If either one of those descriptions applies to you, i would suggest you start drinking before you read this blog. A sense of humor is suggested. If you don't have one that sucks for you … find one and get a life!
I’m home! I wasn’t supposed to be but I am. Originally I was flying from Maine down to the beach where I was meeting my family but things are too chaotic and stressful at Kevin’s work so we’re just going to stay put.
It’s just as well because the weather is supposed to be crappy. Here’s a roundup of what’s been going on:
I’m always impressed that I can write posts out of absolutely nothing. Too bad that isn’t really a useful skill.
See ya!
Point 9 is really sweet :)
Don’t know about you, but people I know and grew up with aren’t close to their family. It’s quite rare to see a tight knit family unit where I’m from. Everyone’s too busy with the hustle and bustle of city life that people are off on their own.

You’ll get that empty nester time soon :)

aww thanks…yeah, thanks for that. We are pretty tight with our kids. That’s good I suppose.
I was staring at your twitter update on Andie and Daniel leaving and I wanted to say something but I couldn’t find words of comfort.
I will say this though…
You seem like a no-nonsense Mom and with everything I’ve read, you’ve raised your children very well. You have enforced what you believe is right in a loving, no-nonsense manner for their own good. They understand this and they love you unconditionally. So explains this ‘closeness’ you have with them…it is rare. Most of my peers run the other way when their Mom walks in the door. And this is even when their Moms been good to them.
Your family has a special bond and it’s certainly crystal clear and your kindness, wit, no-nonsense approach are traits that your kids will carry with them for always. They are YOUR legacy…and they sound like remarkable young people.
That is such a nice thing to say so thank you
Hahah. Well…is it flattering how much you’re needed? There’s a silver lining! (I’m reaching here, I know)

hahaha…silver lining. Yeah, i love my kids but sometimes i wish they’d leave me alone, ya know???
What do you mean that’s not a useful skill? That’s WRITING!!
Hahahs…you’re like a cheerleader for me :))
I have a Daniel, which is why #4-#7 made me laugh. His name is Jacob and he’s a middle. He’s 11 1/2. I love him dearly but he is the child that, when he leaves home, I will both let out a giant sigh of relief (because I won’t be “responsible” for making sure he does what he’s supposed to do), while at the same time having an anxiety attack (because I won’t be responsible for making sure he does what he’s supposed to do). I guess at some point they sink or swim. Good luck!!
I sense some sinking in the future
This cracked me up good! Haha I agree with Dylan. Number 9 is really sweet!
Guilty of number 3 and 21. *sigh*
