In which it’s cold out there

weather

So I woke up this morning and it was 5 degrees, which to many of you might be no big deal, but I can assure you that down here in North Carolina (at least where I live) we’re not used to it.  BOY THAT WAS A RUNON SENTENCE.  AND NOW I ACCIDENTALLY HIT THE ALL CAPS!  HOLD ON!

Better?  Wow, two weeks without writing a post and I forget how to use a keyboard.  At any rate, I have a garage so my car wasn’t too, too bad although when I took the dog out this morning I was like “holy shit” and I really don’t know how northerners do it

Of course, they probably dress better than I do but I really don’t think I have clothes for cold weather anymore.  When I got to spinning this morning at 8:15 they asked me why I didn’t have a coat on and because I’m a moron, I can honestly say it didn’t really occur to me.

I had a polar tec pullover on and I figured I was going from the car to the gym and I guess I underestimated how cold the car would be just sitting in the garage.  I did, however, have gloves so at least my hands were toasty.

Andie and Daniel have gone back to school and only Keely is left.  Keely was like “finally I’m an only child again like I was for 15 glorious months before Andie was born” which cracks me up because seriously, she’s 24!  Anyways, we are doing a bit of writing together and we worked on that and stayed inside yesterday.

Today, however, being the COLDEST DAY PRACTICALLY EVER, I have a ton of errands to do.  I guess that was pretty poor planning but when the plans were made nobody told me that I would be living in the artic.

Beyond all that, I’m pretty sure that I broke my butt bone because it’s been 1 ½ weeks and it still kills me.  I can’t even pick up my dog or sit without pain.  I had to use one of those little cushions in spinning.  I bet you’re wondering why I even bothered to spin but if you had seen what I’ve been eating you’d know.

My goal is to enjoy Keely for these last few days before she heads back to Los Angeles.  Things are well for her and she’s on hiatus for Sleepy Hollow.  Have you guys watched it yet???? What are you waiting for?

Today is my nieces 4th birthday so I need to run and get a present and I can barely remember what a 4-year-old wants.  Hope I find something good.  Time sure has flown since my kids were that age.

I hope all of you are having a Happy New Year.   I know I’m trying to change my attitude (well, kinda) and take a little bit better care of myself.

See ya!

Chicago’s been fun ~ in 1 week we have gone from -13 (actual air temperature, not wind chill) to 48. And people wonder why they get sick all the time . . .
