This blog is not for the light-hearted or easily offended. If either one of those descriptions applies to you, i would suggest you start drinking before you read this blog. A sense of humor is suggested. If you don't have one that sucks for you … find one and get a life!
In case you ever think that things change, as your kids get older I’m here to tell you that just isn’t the case.
Here’s what happened:
As you might know, Keely has been living at home since last May when she had her surgery. Obviously, right after the surgery she needed to lie on the couch. A LOT! After she started recovering she still laid around on the couch. A LOT! Now, we have two couches in our main family room. A longer one and a loveseat. Keely claims the loveseat for the most part.
As a matter of fact, there are days that I think Keely and the loveseat have melded into one. It’s normally not an issue as I usually hang on the longer couch and Kevin either hangs with me or he sits in one of the swivel chairs.
BUT … now Andie and Daniel are home for Thanksgiving break. Andie, of course, has had the stomach flu so has spent much of her time lying around on the longer couch. Still, Keely was laying claim to the shorter couch.
BUT … this morning Andie came down first and laid on the long couch. THEN Daniel came down and lay on the shorter couch. Kevin and I weren’t home because we were working out.
When we walked in the door, Andie was on the long couch and Daniel was on the short couch and Keely was on top of Daniel. Yeah, she was attempting to get him out of the way but he wouldn’t budge.
It’s now one hour later and she’s still squashing him on the couch. Kevin asked if Daniel wanted to go out to lunch with him and Keely was encouraging Daniel to go.
Me: you only want Daniel to leave so you can take the couch!
So you see folks? My kids are still tussling over stupid shit. Some things never change. I’ll let you know if one of them perishes.
