This blog is not for the light-hearted or easily offended. If either one of those descriptions applies to you, i would suggest you start drinking before you read this blog. A sense of humor is suggested. If you don't have one that sucks for you … find one and get a life!
I have to tell you something funny; well I think its funny. Before Keely moved to California I put the word out on this here blog that Keely would be moving to Cali to pursue a writing career in TV and did anybody know of anybody in that field?
One regular reader of mine, let’s just call her “Theresa” said that her daughter was out there and pursuing an advanced degree in “production” and that she was sure she’d like to meet Keely.
I gave her Keely’s Facebook info and told Keely to be on the lookout for this young lady’s Facebook welcome. Keely waited and didn’t hear from her and that was the last that I ever gave it a thought. I’m pretty sure that was last December or something.
Yesterday, I received an email from the mom, “Theresa”, saying that she had recently had a conversation with her daughter. Her daughter had been saying that it was hard to find good writers in this program and of course, Theresa, being the terrific person she is mentioned that the daughter should contact Keely.
“Oh, we’ve been chatting for months” was the answer she received from her daughter. She left me a comment to this affect on my blog and I was all like WAIT, WHAT?!?
So I contacted Keely and lo and behold, they had been chatting for quite some time now and were soon going to meet. I laughed and laughed because neither one of them had mentioned it to either one of their moms.
So, who knows? Keely wants to be a writer and this other girl wants to produce and perhaps it’ll be a marriage made in heaven. I really have no idea.
At any rate, they are certainly two peas in a pod because neither one thought it was important enough to mention to their moms. If that works out and they become friends, I will have totally justified my blog for the next generation; hasn’t done much for Andie or Daniel though but there’s still time.
It’s hard to imagine how much I could do for my kids if I actually tried.
hahahaha! They shall be dining this very weekend on Rodeo Drive, no less… Sounds fancier than it is, but Alexandra will take
Feeling kind of famous today, as I made the blog! THE BLOG!
Keely to a lovely Italian place, and Keely will know that California girls are quite nice. And Ali will love Keely, because she is from the south, and Ali loves all things southern! Funny how things happen in this silly little world. I was just thinking yesterday though….Screw the girls friendships…I could use a new friend, and Lynn loves Houzz, and I love Houzz…She smells weird stuff in her kitchen (did you check under the sink), and I always smell weird stuff in the kitchen, and Lynn has to drive, and I have to drive…wait…that may be a problem… but you get the gist. When the girls go all Affleck/Damon and win an Oscar, we will meet up on the red carpet and take every ounce of credit we deserve! And the last selling point? Alexandra LOVES this blog, and says you are funny like Nora Ephron! WHAT? I want to be funny like Nora Ephron… “Um, mom…your blog is totally different, and not funny like Ephron. Keely’s mom is funny life Ephron”… So Lynn… how about you adopt one more??? Can’t wait to hear how it turns out. If Keely likes Ali, we will drag her down to the OC sometime to meet the whole dysfunctional bunch.
hey…come meet me on April 30th or May 1st. Keely will have to work until about 4:00 or so and I’ll just be chilling. Or i could drive to meet you. I’ll have a car :)
BUMMER! I still have this 1.5 year old, until June 15th, and then NO MORE CHILDREN to nanny. Long story about guilt trips moms give me to watch their kids…I gave her this one school year, but time to retire on that front. Are you coming this summer? Would love to meet up!
Probably…I’ll be there in two weeks and then who knows
Your comments made me look like a bafoon…It jumbled my reply…or did I?
Suppose to be….

and then…
hahahaha! They shall be dining this very weekend on Rodeo Drive, no less… Sounds fancier than it is, but Alexandra will take
Ha! This Saturday we are taking a lovely jaunt to Rodeo Drive wherein we will go to a fancy restaurant and peruse the racks of Prada, Dior, Carte and Chanel and not be spoken to because they won’t think they have anything for us and we’re obviously going to be in the wrong place. ;) It’s going to be so fetch!
THANKS MOMS
so fetch…hahaha…i was pretty sure that word didn’t make the cut in mean girls but I’m game. Also, Keely wouldn’t know a designer label if it slammed her in the face although don’t try that because something will break and she’ll end up in the hospital
Yes! That was an intentional Mean Girls reference, which I’m so glad you caught! :) The rest was a shout out to Pretty Woman. Big mistake. Big. Huge. :)
I won’t break her, promise!!
Thank you…she’s more than capable of breaking herself and needs no additional help :)
ohhhhhh alexandra… You break Keely, you buy her… And if you read her mom’s blog, she can cost you bank! Alas Lynn, my girls were raised on an even dose of Nordstorm/Target. The only way to shop. Rodeo drive is strictly for people watching. Cause at the end of the day some of those clothes are fugly! That restaurant is not that fancy, because it is a chain, but man oh man is it yummolicious! Have fun, girls! Buy me a bauble! And remember… the only thing you need to know about L.A., is that it only takes 20 minutes to get anywhere!
My ADD just kicked in…Ali, have you considered The Grove??? They have that yummy Italian place as well. If she hasn’t been to The Grove yet, that would be fun…
Lynn, Ariana (the oldest by a year), says your blog is hilarious as well. I can’t win. Now you have to take both girls. They are undergrad educated…1/2 way through grad school, and they think you are hilarious. Andie and Ari would be fast friends, as they are both grumpy and snarky, but super loveable, and have no idea how smart they are. Plus, I have two more, so I can spare those two. Did I mention they sometimes do dishes, and are completely potty trained?” Its a win win!
I’m a little lost as to how gaining two more girls is a win for me :)
You break her, you buy her Ali. And if you read the blog, you know she costs bank!!!
Oh jeez…I wrote a brilliant response, and it did not show up, because I didn’t hit send? Who knows. Anyway, Ali…did you consider The Grove? Has Keely been to the Grove? Lovely Italian there as well, and great for L.A. people watching…plus Farmers Market, but you know…
You can do both… It is only 20 minutes to anywhere in L.A. :-)
Next set up is Andie and Ari. They will be besties. The Lawyer and The Doctor… Girls trying to make their mark. Quick! Someone write that script before Shonda Rhimes gets a hold of it!
Ariana also thinks your blog is hilarious, so now you can adopt them both. Potty trained, sometimes do dishes, 1/2 way through grad school. I have two others who still think I am pretty cool.
A win win, because they think you are hilarious, and will worship you for a time… Best therapy!
Sweet blog! I found it while surfing around
