This blog is not for the light-hearted or easily offended. If either one of those descriptions applies to you, i would suggest you start drinking before you read this blog. A sense of humor is suggested. If you don't have one that sucks for you … find one and get a life!

In which things have been slow around here

God things have been slow around this blog lately.  Some of the reasons could be the following:

The content sucks

The holidays take up everybody’s energy

I haven’t been tweeting much

People are shopping for presents

Probably presents for me

… OR …

I have been phoning it in therefore

The content sucks

But nonetheless, I have been received more queries from advertising and/or social media people than ever.  I find it ironic because my numbers are down and I’m having a hard time giving a shit and yet people want me to put up links or host giveaways.

The letters are usually polite and tell me that their “product” would be a good “fit” for my readers.  Ummmm, no…have you read my blog??

Often they’re scrapbooking or photo sites or other products that are geared towards “moms.”  I really don’t know who reads this blog and I’m quite sure many of them are moms, after all I’m a MOM and if I can be a mom anybody can be a mom.

The point is it’s really not a blog geared to providing useful information to moms though so why would I want to talk about these products?

I find them amusing but normally respond with “I don’t have advertising on my blog” to which they usually respond, “This isn’t advertising, this is a link and a giveaway.”

Lately I’ve started responding with the generic “I don’t do that sort of thing on my blog” which basically encompasses everything in the world.  I can’t even imagine wanting to advertise on this blog.  People totally overestimate the readership here.  I have about 5 steady readers and commenters and I have LONG changed my mind about trying to expand.

It’s not that I wouldn’t want to expand; it’s just that I know for a fact that I’ll NEVER put in the effort to do so.  At any rate, you guys should thank me for not constantly deluging you with stupid ads and products and sponsored links and shit.

Man, I’m totally a great citizen.

Meanwhile, I’m just trying to get Keely ready to move and figure out what I’m going to do when I grow up.  Let me know if you have suggestions.  Not about growing up, I’m not interested in that…just the “what am I going to do part.”

See ya.
