In which we continue to build a porch

Another day, another blog post not written; basically the story of my life. This morning Kevin and I went down to Durham to see Andie and Daniel. We had some chairs to “build” for Andie and then we were going to have brunch.

I mentioned, sometime in the middle of the frustration that is assembling chairs, that I needed to write a blog post and Andie asked if I was “still writing that stupid blog?” and I guess it’s a valid question because am I?

I mean, I barely write anything at all and when I do I don’t really think it’s all that funny so I’m wondering if I should take a hiatus or just stop or what.

Anyways, not that it’s your decision but if I’m just doing a half assed job should I even bother?

So, here’s what’s happening around here.

This week, in our porch-building project, I had to text Kevin a billion “what if” pictures. For example, what if a) we divided wall spaces into quarters or b) eighths or c) sixths and of course, Kevin decided that we should just not divide it into anything which wasn’t a choice.

Answer is: c) sixths. Here’s the pic of what it’s going to look like.

Also, they had to come do a test patch of the grout so they could show us what it would look like.

Also, I had to go look to see if we liked any existing screen doors. Answer is: NO, so they are making us doors.

Door hardware???? Lynn, please go look at what they’ve picked out.

Also I’m trying to find rugs and furniture that match and work and that Kevin is ok with. You know those people who do it all without their husband? Clearly they’re not married to a “second guesser.”

Today we went down to see Andie and assemble some Adirondack chairs. I figured it’d take 30 minutes. I was wrong since for some reason nothing seemed to work right. But Kevin persevered and even managed to stay somewhat smiley which is excellent. Then we went to eat brunch and had possibly the slowest service ever.

Thank god we’re home now but the Patriots are playing Denver and that means Tom Brady vs. Peyton Manning and you guys better hope Brady and the Pats win or my night is going to be terrible.

So that’s what’s up with me. Hope you guys are all okay.

I would love to sit on that porch, read my book until I got hot then get up and jump into the pool! Beautiful yard.

Hi Lynn,I discovered your blog just a few months ago and now I really look forward to Sunday mornings. A short black (coffee, that is)in my hand, iPad on my lap and husband still snoring beside me and child asleep in his own room. I get to have a giggle and relax with your blog. I like all your posts, even the short ones. I like your down to earth style and you ARE funny!
I’m spreading the word here in New Zealand, well, in Wellington, anyway and my friends love your posts and look forward to reading about what you get up to.
You and the bloggess are my absolute favourite blogs, so keep up the good work!
