Well so far it’s been a pretty eventful week around here. Here’s what’s going on:
Kevin and I have been contemplating a new kitten for a while. You see, ever since Tucker died I have felt like we should have two pets but I didn’t really think we should get a new dog.
One reason is because Tucker was amazing … and screwed up … and yet still the sweetest dog in the world. The other is because I travel enough now to see Keely and such that I worried about having to constantly kennel a dog.
So then I thought, “Maybe we should get another cat” because Butterscotch seemed lost without Tucker AND because Butterscotch isn’t the most cuddly cat in the world. Actually, she ONLY cuddles when we are on our bed and then she will always go to the same spot so she basically only cuddles with me and not with Kevin.
So we have been looking at kittens but we haven’t pulled the trigger. On Monday, I stopped by Petsmart and they had a ton of kittens. They were so cute that I had Kevin meet me Monday evening at the kitten section. Apparently they were having an adoption thing going on. I had wanted a Tabby because I grew up with one and I knew they were very, very good at cuddling.
First we met Smudge (don’t you love that name?) and she was adorable but then we met this little Tabby girl and that’s the one we got. I almost got both of them but I didn’t want Butterscotch to have a heart attack.
She didn’t make a peep in the store but she sure was a chatterbox at home!
Now she cries when I put her in her room and Butterscotch is scared shitless of her. Also she is very cuddly but also very, very needy. She wants to be held all the time. Her name is Cinder because she’s gray but I think I should have named her Goiter because she’s like a growth under my neck.
However, she is quite cuddly but not yet very playful. I think she’s about 9 weeks old.
So there’s that. I was just gone for 4 hours so right this minute she’s sitting on my lap while I type.
Other then that, the art gallery lady came and looked at my paintings. She liked them (or at least she said she did) and she picked out 3 for her show. It’s odd because she picked 3 that I don’t think are my best. I have no idea. She’s a better judge of art then she or I know what’s marketable or her gallery isn’t really selling art.
I suppose we shall see. I have to paint the edges black and then put hanging wire on them and then they will be in the show. That’s a bit exciting although I’m hoping that she will take all my art to be in her gallery because then I don’t have hassle with the entire thing.
So that’s basically what is going on.
Have a good day!
