In which we met peeps in LA

Book of Mormon

I guess I should finish telling you guys about my LA trip.  As you know Friday was a very, very long day. (Well actually, it was the same 24 hours that it always is but we were up for more of them than usual … just clarifying that for you guys).

We had been up since 4:30 AM Eastern time and got back to the hotel at 11:30 PM Pacific time so you can imagine how exhausted we were, especially Kevin! (After all, I took a nap remember?)

Nonetheless, we still woke early because bodies are stupid that way.  We decided to meet Keely at her gym, Equinox, at 10:00 AM and do a spin class.  WHAT WERE WE THINKING? Now I’ve been spinning for over a decade but this class was wicked hard!! (I said that for Kevin … he loves the word wicked because he likes to think of himself as a New Englander)

I burnt over 500 calories in 50 minutes.  Kevin burnt 1000 calories in 50 minutes.  I wish there was a way that I could count his calories as mine because I’d seriously be half the size I am if that was the case.  Instead, I had to just burn my own calories and there were barely any fans in the room and I was dying (because I really don’t sweat … much … it’s a problem).

Sometime during the class the guy next to Kevin got off the bike and left and I was thinking “yea! We’re almost done” but then I discovered that we still had 20 minutes left and I knew that I would probably die on the bike.

Obviously I didn’t because I’m writing this post.  Then we went back to the hotel and showered and it was on to the next “social” meeting, Brunch.  We had brunch at this place, The Hudson, where we met a bunch of Keely’s friends and/or cohorts.  It was fun although it was really loud and it’s difficult to truly have conversations with such a large group (9 of us).  It’s always nice, however, to be able to put a face to the name so when Keely tells me her stories now at least I’ll know who is who … or is that whom??

That night the plan was dinner and a show, The Book of Mormon.  Now Daniel and I had already seen this but Kevin and Keely had not.  I must say that I enjoyed it much more the second time. I don’t know why.  I think it might be because I was in a state of shock the first time through on Broadway.  I couldn’t believe that a musical that made such fun of religion and Mormon’s and missionaries was such a hit.  It surprised me although yea, that’s awesome.

Anyways, we enjoyed the show and Kevin was about to keel over so after that it was back to the hotel for us.

Sunday was just a chill day for the three of us after two days of constantly meeting people.  None of us did much.  I meant to write some blog posts but we mostly just worked out, watched the Olympics and cuddled.  That night we had dinner next to James Cromwell of Babe fame and he was eating alone.  I desperately wanted to invite him to eat with us because I felt bad for him but Keely felt that he wanted to be alone.  I’m not sure but if it were up to me he would have had a damn good time with us.

So that’s pretty much it! We traveled back on Monday and it’s back to reality.  I don’t know when we’ll see Keely again. She works a billion hours a week and the show doesn’t have a break until Thanksgiving I’m pretty sure but I’m glad we met her peeps out in LA.

This was a bit boring wasn’t it??? Hmmmm…sorry
