blog

Last week I wrote a blog post with a few of my opinions sharing my disgust with the Republican Debate and candidates. I probably lost a few readers but one left me a comment, which said the following:

A political rant is not at all why I read your blog these past months. There is so much easily-refuted material in your post. That being said, I’ll unsubscribe.

I assume the lady (it was a woman … or a man with a woman’s name but anyways …) did unsubscribe and I found it a little funny that a blog that actually says this on the VERY TOP OF THE BLOG could ever be misconstrued as politically correct:

This blog is not for the light-hearted or easily offended. If either one of those descriptions applies to you, I would suggest you start drinking before you read this blog. A sense of humor is suggested. If you don’t have one that sucks for you … find one and get a life!

Once upon a time, probably about 5 years ago when I started this blog, I sort of cared about how many readers I did and did not have. Although I do have statistics and could check at any time I rarely do anymore.

I continue this blog because:

I’m masochistic

I still occasionally have a story to tell

Or something to rant about

Or something serious to actually say

Or a top-secret reason that I can’t tell you guys

But one day I HOPE to be able to

To see the many friends I’ve met through blogging at my once a year trip to Mom 2.0 Summit

Which is pretty ironic because I’m neither friendly nor nice

And I also barely identify as a mom

And consider my children to be abject failures

Although they’re all more successful than me

But I have yet to have anything to live vicariously through

So my advice to all the haters out there is that you can feel free to unsubscribe but I neither REQUIRE nor CARE about your reason for doing so. After all, I’ve never asked anything of anybody so it’s a choice to read this blog, or any other for that matter.

To all you loyal peeps who read me (hahaha… I was gonna say day in and day out but we all know that’s a bunch of bologna) on the occasions that I actually publish this blog, I thank you.

I’m thinking you are more like me than I thought. Lol. I have been told that I’m not all that nice too! Really, what is nice in the grand scheme of things? Keep the rants coming. If you can’t rant about government, who can you rant about? Your husband, your children? That gets boring because we all have those difficulties.

People think I’m nice because I don’t say much. I live vicariously through people like you. So, thanks. I’m glad I found your blog.

I love the bit about “easily refuted.” I wonder how someone who clearly buys what Trump, Limbaugh, O’Reilly et al are selling wound up here in the first place!

It is tempting, when someone gets their panties in a knot, to start baiting them (or maybe that’s just me). The really whiny ones always want to tell you why they are leaving. WE DON’T CARE. Noncommercial bloggers don’t get paid for your one lousy extra pageview, much less your comment, so … buh-bye. Leave the space for those who enjoy it.

    Rant on, Lynn.
